DO I NEED TO GET TAGS FOR MY DOG?

Yes you do. City dog tags are available at the Sycamore Municipal Building in the City Clerks Office. You need to bring a certificate of inoculation for rabies that states when the dog is due for his next rabies shot.

Every owner of a dog within the City shall annually, by March 15, or upon obtaining possession or ownership of a dog, register and pay five dollars ($5.00) for each dog.

CAN I REGISTER TO VOTE AT CITY HALL?

Yes you can. Go to the City Clerk's office and they can help you there. 

What are the voter registration requirements?

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be at least 18 years of age by election day
• Must have been a resident of the precinct at least 30 days

Remember if you have moved or changed your name, you must re-register to be eligible to vote.

When may I register to vote?

Registration is open year round except:

• During the 28-day period just prior to an election
• During the 2 days after such election 

What forms of identification are needed when I register to vote?

• Two forms of identification with one showing your current residence address.  If you register by mail, you must vote in person the first time you vote.

WHAT ARE MY SEWER RATES AND HOW ARE THEY DETERMINED?

Rates within the City Limits:

Each user shall pay for services provided by the City of Sycamore based on his/her use of the treatment works as determined by water meter readings or other appropriate methods acceptable to the City. 

Each user shall be billed $2.73 per 100 cu. ft. of usage. The minimum charge for any account shall be $4.03 per billing period (every 2 months)

For those users whose wastewater has a greater strength than normal domestic sewage, a surcharge in addition to the normal user rate will be collected.

• $0.32 per pound of biological
• $0.12 per pound of suspended solids

Rates Outside City Limits:

In order to cover operation and maintenance expenses for the sewer system, bond retirements for improvements and interests to the treatment plant, as well as the generally greater distance from the treatment system, user rates shall increase by fifty percent (50%0 is service is outside the corporate limits.

WHEN WILL MY GARBAGE BE COLLECTED?

MONDAY - For those within the city limits of Sycamore, residence northwest of the boundary of DeKalb Avenue and then north of East State Street, including the Woodgate subdivision.

TUESDAY - For those within the city limits of Sycamore, residence east of Peace Road, southwest of the boundary of DeKalb Avenue and then south of East State Street.

Please Note These Exceptions:  Residence along the south side of DeKalb Avenue between Fox Avenue to California Street that were previously picked up on Tuesday and Friday have been changed to Monday also.
